A small, romantic, Medieval town

Bad Münstereifel lies enclosed by the well-maintained city walls. With four huge gates and a castle site, it is completely under heritage protection - a small, romantic, Medieval town through which the River Erft flows.

A sightseeing visit to the beautiful town centre will lead you past old traditional timber framed houses, and many small shops.

In the surrounding area, but close to the town centre of Bad Münstereifel lies the Orchid Valley, a nursery for over 30 kinds of domestic, blooming orchids. In addition, there are many other kinds of rare flowers here, including Pasqueflower and Gentian. Many other flower varieties are constantly produced here for visitors to enjoy. 

Of course, one cannot forget the Heino-Rathaus-Café. It lies in the middle of Bad Münstereifel, centrally located opposite the historic town hall, and offers hand crafted baked goods and confectionary. Their Heino Hazelnut Cake is a winner, which here in Bad Münstereifel is much more famous than Gildo Horn’s Nut Corners.
