Nuerburgring, the racetrack oft he green hell
Travel with Limousine Cologne and a chauffeur well-versed local history and knowledge to Nürburgring.
Nürburgring is the oldest and most classic racing track, set close to nature in the Eifel mountains. Inaugurated on 18 June 1927, Nürburgring was established as a mountain, racing and test track. The original construction has been retained for almost all the total 24,8 kilometres of original track.
In 1984, a 4.5 kilometre loop was added to the original “old” track, to create “the most modern and safest Grand Prix loop in the world” of the time. Both autonomous tracks can be opened into a combined racing track of 26 kilometres.
In VLN races (Endurance Racing Championship) without the Müllenbach Loop (24.433 km), the 24-hour race is conducted without the Mercedes Arena section (25.378 km). Nürburgring is now the longest permanent race track in the world. Furthermore, the Grand Prix circuit can be divided into the Sprint Circuit (short version) and the Müllenbach Circuit (southern part of the route).
From 2007 there has been reconstruction of the areas around the start and end buildings, requiring the investment of several hundred million Euros. The large recreation centre, with a roller coaster, shopping centre, bars, hotel and holiday village in the immediate vicinity of the race track was a world famous flop and very few racing fans make use of these facilities.
Depending on the conditions and weather, it is possible to ride shotgun in the BMW racing taxi or to drive the track in our limousine or van with your licensed Cologne chauffeur.
